The first is really beautiful up close... an Orchard Orbweaver. He might have got to stay except for the fact that his web was RIGHT where we walk outside... and it is a sticky, thick web like the black widow spiders we grew sick of in Lancaster, CA. Sorry guy, we walked into that web too many times... you're OUTTA HERE.
The 2nd is a Spiny Backed Orbweaver, and although doesn't look terrifying in these pictures, his red spiky back is a bit disturbing.
