We finally got the incubators going. I bought 12 Serama hatching eggs online and 8 of them hatched. They are so magical and beautiful, and watching each one come out of the egg and come over to say hello to me and Mark through the plastic incubator chamber cover was something you can only imagine and need to experience to understand. We'll fill in with videos later, but here's the timeline:
April 30 2026 Serama hatching eggs into the incubators
May 20 2026 Serama babies hatched (exactly 20 days)
- Pip was the first to pop out at 11:00 am, and the rest followed one by one throughout the day. Just amazing little tiny babies!
May 22 2026. Pip, Zip and their brothers and sisters were moved out of the incubator into a sterilite container with heating pad and brooder plate ("mama hen")
May 23 2026 Filled the 2 incubators with 20 silkie eggs (from Chip and his ladies in Silkie playland)
May 27 2026 Candled the eggs and removed 6 non viable eggs, leaving 14 silkie eggs in the incubator
