Lets look at egg weights. These are not guesses or internet data, this is right from our NOM Kitchen and these weights are from our "Legal Postal Scale".
P2 is a private farm and sanctuary for non-threatening, Florida woodland animals. We're surrounded by the sound of construction and loss of natural habitat for birds, reptiles and creatures of all sort. Our goal is to provide a natural habitat for them to find respite amid the changing landscape and share the journey with you.

EGGS FROM 14 BANTAM HENS AND 4 STANDARD SIZE GOLDEN-COMETS
50 POUNDER EGG
OK, it's not 50 pounds, it's just a Florida expression, but still, it's a BIG egg. The two on the right are full size eggs that barely fit in an egg box.
The one on the left is truly a LARGE egg. Our four Golden Comet chickens are working hard to be sure we've got plenty.
Without further ado, here it is, the big one, enjoy!

CANDY LAYS AN EASTER EGG
| FRESH FROM THE FARM, WEIRD EGGS ;-) |
We have two little "Easter Egger" Bantam hens that came to live with us back at the beginning of September, 2021, they were only two days old, delivered to us via USPS Express Mail. They were incredibly cute little fluff balls when they were chicks but now they're becoming ladies (they're still super cute :-). One baby hen was lighter in color and one was a rich brown color. Mary named the light colored hen "Candy" and the darker one "Bunny" (a definite nod and tip of the hat to Easter in naming these two little hens).

MARILYN LAID AN EGG
Our Flock #3 is living in the screened-in porch. Fritz (the rooster), Marilyn and Little Tom.
Today we heard the "Egg Song" coming from the porch, all three of the chickens were very excited and talking in strange voices. Marilyn was proudly singing the song. It was her first egg. We're so glad everything came out ok.
Lyrics to the Chicken Egg Song:
Ba GOK! buc buc buc buc buc, Ba GOK! buc buc buc buc buc
