POOL TEMPERATURE, IN WINTER

When we bought P2-farm back on Dec 4th, 2014 the pool was 68-degrees F. We had the new pool heater installed in March of 2015. The pool was still about 68-degrees.

The winter of 2021/2022 has brought the coldest days we've experienced since we bought P2-farm.

January of 2022 had some early mornings that touched 32 and 30 degrees. Fortunately the temperature warms quickly in the Florida morning sun.

It all gave me a new chance to monitor the temperature of the pool water in the coldest times. In years gone by the pool thermometer was always dead or out of service but this year we had a good one I could monitor.

68 is not a usual temperature for the pool. If the air temp goes colder so does the pool.

59.7 was the coldest water temperature I saw in February of 2022. When the pool water got that cold we decided to wait for the water temp to come up to at least 65 or higher before turning the heater back on. When we turn the heater on it will need to run for about 30 hours straight to bring the approximately 18,000 gallons of water up to our favorite temperature of 91-degrees (we like it warm).

We're still not running the heater on Feb 10th. This coming Sunday is going to be another chilly night with temps in the 40s but after that we're back into air temperatures of 60-degrees at night and 80-degrees in the day time.

We have had the pool heater yearly maintenance done, it is in its 7th year of service. The heater got a good bill of health from the factory service tech.

It still blows my mind that you can heat an entire pool.
