Herons and Egrets - December 2015

The large white egret and great blue heron are huge and impressive, though we love the smaller white egrets, tricolored herons, and blue egrets just as much.

The tall white egret almost disappears in the ibis flock...




This is "hero" the tricolored heron.  He is the only tricolor allowed at the P2 pond... he chases away any others.  If you're a white egret or another heron-like bird, you're cool, but he's the only tricolored heron allowed here :)



Small white egret in the tree...  nice hair, and check out the green dripping feet.  Very art deco.





Great white egret...  amazing.
