We had an amazing Christmas, visiting the Viera Wetlands in Melbourne, FL and seeing all of these birds and alligators!
We call this alligator "one eye"... for obvious reasons. The good news is: he won the fight!

Little duck... you have an incredibly shiny red plasticky thing on your face. Amazing! We found out later this is a gallinule. Very sweet little duck like bird.
