MARY WAS OUT PLAYING WITH FLOCK 1 TODAY
LEFT TO RIGHT AND BACK TO FRONT
On the left looking right into the camera, that beautiful redheaded hen, it's LUCY, check out those gorgeous feathered feet.
In the back, in the middle, with the massive gorgeous red wattles and spectacular red comb, it's RAVEN, king of Flock 1.
Directly in front of Raven (and right by his side), it's Ravens Queen, the cochin with the most'n, BLACKIE.
Just to the right of Blackie, another black hen with the wildest and craziest feathers, ever, it's PHYLLIS aka Nugget (don't ask), she's got feathered feet to match and they are amazing.
In front, dead center, it's the petite and very squeaky voiced, DUCHESS. She is tiny but perfect in every way. This "Old English" breed of hen occasionally lays an egg and always has something to say. But don't fall in love, Duchess detests human contact (she's highly intelligent). Duchess is a magnificent stunt flyer, every morning she flies up to a perch to escape Ravens unwanted advances.
FLOCK 1 OUTTING
It is always a joy to watch Flock 1 out on the patio playing. They stay together and Raven is always nearby watching over his ladies. When they get tired they all gladly go back into their Castle-1 home for a little afternoon R & R.
These five little bantam chickens were part of the first eight chickens we ever bought at Tractor Supply. We still love them as much as the day we brought them to P2. They truly made our home, a farm.
Buk buk bukkkkkk BA-GOK!
