HURRICANE IRMA NHC PREDICTION MAPS LEADING TO LANDFALL 2017

HURRICANE IRMA NHC PREDICTION MAPS

I collected these as we waited for Irma to make her way up through Florida. From the first to the last it's easy to see why this was such a confusing hurricane for everyone including meteorologists and regular people trying to protect their possessions.

Here are the ones I grabbed so we could review them later.

Note that in the last two storm path predictions there is no more hurricane (the dark brown ball in all the other picts), only tropical storm force winds. These were still enough to cause massive problems and flooding in Jacksonville as Irma dumped tremendous rain all across the state.

Here at P2 we measured just under 9-inches of rain fall in less than the 12 hours Irma spent crawling past us. All the water run-off mechanisms put in place worked perfectly. The drain canals filled up but never overflowed or became clogged.

We're very thankful to be among those who had very minimal property damage consisting of downed trees, branches, pine needles (billions of them) and acorns (thousands of them).

Our two good friends Jason and Steve made a quick stop with their chain saws and wood moving equipment to help remove a fallen oak tree that was blocking our driveway.

As Irma vanishes into the sunset we tip our hat to her and thank the Lord she was kind to us.
