We love watching the lizards that frolic around P2. You can hardly look around without seeing one or two darting into a hiding place.
P2 is a private farm and sanctuary for non-threatening, Florida woodland animals. We're surrounded by the sound of construction and loss of natural habitat for birds, reptiles and creatures of all sort. Our goal is to provide a natural habitat for them to find respite amid the changing landscape and share the journey with you.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
We found this ancient mummy thingy at Lou's Blues, that's my favorite human next to it :-)
A pair of ducks walking along the beach at P2 on Thanksgiving 2015 made the day memorable.
THANKSGIVING RACCOONS
Besides the birds that visited us over Thanksgiving we had several night-time critters stop by, they were all happy.
THANKSGIVING 2015 BIRDS
We had several beautiful birds visit us over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This was our 8th Thanksgiving not eating birds, this year we took pictures of them.

The view of P2 from a mini bike ride
Mark captured the beauty of riding around the park on a mini bike - from his view and from my view when we're riding together!
Start the bottom one first and immediately start the top one, and they will be synchronized.

Raccoons are VERY smart
This night video of a raccoon trying to get a ham bone says it all. Not our video, but we would really love to see this behavior. Note how he uses his feet to hold on and LETS GO of his hands. Wow.

NAPPY TIME FOR IBIS
These shy little birds add a sense of magic to P2, it's a great feeling to know a little bird can take a nap in the middle of the day and feel safe.
SQUIRRELS OF P2
The squirrels run and jump and play all day here at P2, not a care in the world. But watch out for "Kung Foo Squirrel", he will kick your butt!
TURTLES OF P2
We have lots of turtles at P2, they come out when there are no humans around, gee I wonder why they don't trust us.

NEW CAMERA AT P2
After months of research I finally decided on a new camera to help us take pictures of all the wonderful animals at P2.
The new Canon EOS 5D MkIII landed here last Thursday and it's already clicked off hundreds of new photos.
This week the new 600mm zoom lens arrives.

HAPPY RACCOON
We have the happiest raccoons in the world at P2. They play and frolic all night and sleep all day (just like some musician friends of ours).
A CUTE LITTLE IBIS VISITING P2
This is a very young ibis since it's not finished turning all-white. Compared to others it has the smaller body size so she's female. Great feet.

CARTMAN THE SOUTHPARK RACCOON
This plump little Raccoon reminds me of Eric Cartman from Southpark from the way he sits like such a fat and happy little guy.
EXHAUSTED RACCOON
We have some of the funniest raccoons in all of Florida. They frolic and roll around so hard that occasionally they just get exhausted, like this little guy, he is wore out.
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY
It was another gorgeous day here in Melbourne, Florida, high of 78 degrees, sunny blue skies and puffy white clouds. Perfection itself!

BABY HUEY THE GIANT BLUE HERON
At over 48" tall it's easy to spot Baby Huey, the big blue heron, hanging around on the side lines with a Florida Mottled duck.
Huey is usually here fishing at night. We are always glad to see him during the daylight, he has quite beautiful fluffy-feathers and his size makes him an instant standout and a star among herons and egrets at P2.

MEET "FOREST" A SMART LITTLE IBIS
It is fun watching animals learn, Forest quickly learned if he hangs out near my window I will eventually take pity on him and throw him some bread.
This week we are serving some whole wheat bread and the Peafowl don't seem to like it but the Ibis love it.
I break a single slice into four pieces and throw it out the window. The Ibis very quickly run for the treat but Forest is the quickest and the closest, he grabs a piece and then takes off running trying to keep his score away from the rest of the gang who are nearby.
Forest is a juvenile Ibis, he still has slight gray markings which indicates he is very young. Soon he will lose his gray markings and will just be a white Ibis. It will be fun to see if I can still recognize him when he's older.
